In March of 2020, Covid-19 disrupted every facet of our world. It appeared to arrive everywhere at once and within a year half a million Americans were dead.
Covid-19 quickly exposed challenges in the nation's pandemic response. There was a national skepticism toward collective action and no federal mandate to get the virus under control. The lack of knowledge of the virus overwhelmed the capacity hospitals. It also revealed that despite numerous warnings, the U.S. government was not ready for a dangerous pandemic.
Today, in March of 2021, over 70 million Americans have been vaccinated. There is a promise of return to life as we remember it, but there are still a lot of questions about what the next few months, and even years, will look like.
